I am originally from Slovakia and professionally based at Copenhagen University Hospital – Rigshospitalet in Denmark. As part of my PhD in immunology, I am spending four months in the Complement-Mediated Kidney Disease Division of the MORL. My project here focuses on activation states of specific proximal alternative pathway molecules and their role in the pathogenesis of C3G. This includes patient cohort measurements in plasma, as well as functional assays involving ex vivo pharmacology in serum.
