Research Associate (Kidney - Clinical)

About Me

I am a Research Associate in the Renal Diagnostics Division of the MORL. My primary focus is functional testing of the alternative pathway of the complement system in renal disease. Currently I analyze levels of C3, C4, and CH50 using the Optilite analyzer, C3b deposition via immunocytochemistry, Factor D via ELISA, and ADAMTS-13 Activity via FRET assay. My research interests include Factor D as a secondary driver of complement dysregulation in end stage renal disease, as well as the production and processing of Factor D in different clinical cohorts. In addition to my laboratory work, I assist the Equipment Team with maintaining and validating our clinical laboratory equipment, and collaborate with the renal team to review each patient's clinical results at our weekly multidisciplinary team meeting.
