I am an undergraduate lab assistant majoring in Medical Informatics with a minor in Chemistry. At MORL, I assist with quality assurance of both clinical samples and patient requisitions. I support the Clinical Genetic Renal Team by quantifying our weekly patient samples and organizing them for future testing as well as providing laboratory support by assisting with daily operations of both clinical and research facilities.

I am an undergraduate that works on data management as well as general lab maintenance. I assist Dr. Azaiez with complying previous data collected on the gene GJB2 and looking at its effects on hearing loss. Outside of the lab, I am double majoring in Human Physiology and Art. In the future, I hope to work as a Physician Assistant while continuing work in the field of research with a focus on genetics. 

I'm a biomedical engineering major. I aliquot serum and plasma samples into tubes that are received from patients and assist with various other duties around the lab.

I'm a pre-med and vocal performance major. I aliquot serum and plasma samples into tubes that are received from patients and upload the whereabouts of each sample into our file. I also update the maps on our freezers and consolidate older sample boxes.

I take care of the animals that the lab uses in experiments. My responsibilities include genotyping, maintaining strains, removals, and weaning. 

I am an undergraduate student at the University of Iowa pursuing a degree in biology. I work under the direction of Dr. Hela Azaiez researching genetic hearing loss.

My name is Jillian Hall, and I am an undergraduate student working on MORL’s C3G Natural History Study. I aid the Study’s clinical team in the collection of patient data as well as examining clinical and histological trends found in C3G. I am pursuing degrees in Microbiology and Biochemistry, a minor in Psychology, and a certificate in Clinical and Translational Sciences. Alongside my work with MORL, I am a Patient Care Technician working in UIHC’s Cardiology department and look forward to pursuing a career in medicine. I enjoy live music, vinyl collecting, and a good cup of coffee!

I am a student undergraduate lab assistant studying biology. In the MORL, I help the clinical diagnostic team by prepping patient samples for testing, and I assist in various general lab duties.

I am an undergraduate student studying neuroscience and Spanish and I am on the pre-occupational therapy track. At the MORL I work closely with the administration team, Amy Weaver, Jori Hendon, and Cathy Feng.  I assist with picking up samples, filing, and general office duties. I am currently working on an archive project with our older files which consists of creating an electronic scan of the patient file.
